Owner John Laanstra has been in the shoe business for over 40 years, getting his start in 1981 when he was hired as a salesman. Nine years later he purchased a portion of the business. After a great working relationship with his business partner, he decided to buy the entire company in 2007. At that time with only one store location, Chilliwack,  he saw an opportunity and decided to expand the business.
 

August 2009 saw the opening of a second store with its location in Abbotsford and October 2013 was the opening of a third and located in Pitt Meadows.
